Agreements With Satan
Let me begin by saying I am sorry for no blog last week. I have been traveling non-stop and I just ran out of steam.
Agreements with Satan. I have met a few individuals in my life time that have been involved in the occult or have actually purposefully opened themselves to demons / spirit guides which in the end are the same thing. My guess would be, if we were sitting down having coffee you would tell me that you would never make an agreement with Satan. What if I told you that all of us have done exactly that at some time or another?
I personally never thought about making an agreement with Satan until a few years ago. It hit me like a ton of bricks while on a men’s retreat in the Rocky Mountains. Lets go back a couple of steps. The Bible is very clear that we need to watch what comes out of our mouth.
Luke 6:45 (New International Version, ©2011)
45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Psalm 19:14 (King James Version)
14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
I love both of these verses because they talk about the importance of what comes out of our mouths. At this point you might be asking how does this compare to making an agreement with Satan, glad you asked. Have you ever said the following? I am ugly, stupid, never going to have a good job, get married, get out of debt, have friends, a good car, get rid of my addiction or anything like that? At some point we all have and that is making an agreement with Satan. All of those statements are opposite of what God says about you. When you say I’ll never have a good job. You are agreeing with Satan that he can steal that from you. When you say I am not smart, you are making an agreement with Satan, believing his lie for your life and not receiving the fact that God has made you in his image.
You may never find your self in an occult or calling in a prayer for Satan to come and visit you but you might unknowingly make an agreement with Satan.
John 8:31
[ If the Son Sets You Free ] Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.”
The truth is God didn’t make you stupid, ugly, an addict, He made you in His image. God has given you the power, talents, gifting to do anything He has called you to do. The favor of God is on you if you’ll walk in the truth He as for you. Take a few minutes and write down the agreements you have made with Satan. Once you have them written on paper, go through each one praying this prayer. “Lord, forgive me for believing I am (Ugly) and in the name of Jesus I break that agreement I made with Satan and receive your truth about myself. In Jesus name amen.
From this point on you’ll begin to catch yourself when you begin to make agreement with Satan. I caught myself saying, “I’ll never get out of debt.” I stopped and asked God to forgive me and in the same breath broke that agreement I was making with Satan.
